THE MOON AND THE NIGHTSPIRIT

"Ősforrás"

Equilibrium Music - 2009

CD

The Hungarian pagan folk band The Moon And The Nightspirit has already released two excellent albums: "Of Dreams Forgotten And Fables Untold" and "Regő Rejtem". Now they are back with a new album titled " Ősforrás". The nine songs of the album, since the first listening, show a slightly different side of the band's music, as this time Ágnes Tóth and Mihály focused their songwriting on mystic / magic themes. On this new album the sound is less ethereal and more compact, with a musical emphasis on Celtic-sounding folk.

Like on their previous albums, they use folk instruments (violin, acoustic guitar, woodwinds, percussions, zither, fujara, etc.), but with a less dreamy atmosphere, as the tracks often have upbeat rhythms and sections with strings, guitars, chants and percussions. Songs like "Fénybe Térö" and "Tüzben Születő" are a mix of joy and darkness, where the male / female chants seem to be able to make the spirits arise. The Moon And Nightspirit is probably one of the best combos in their genre: "Ösforrás" is a fantastic journey into a medieval, traditional folk world, where the voice of Ágnes Tóth sounds absolutely fabulous and probably even better than in the past.

The album is released again splendid with artwork created by Ágnes herself. The third album of The Moon And The Nightspirit should ensure the breakthrough to a larger audience! And we hope so!
