It's nice to write about Nordvargr, especially because Henrik Björkk's profoundity enables us to connect to a sort of superiour thought, a solid, granitic, religious thought, or even a human one, thus soothing my secret aura sending mortal rays onto earth. Many, perhaps too many, unable to grasp the call of the muses, removed from the icy peaks inhabited by the gods, insensitive to the primordial sounds of a cursed breed in endless contrast with time, they live in the cruel void where it's impossible to deflect the course of poison darts. In this sphere, "Evolution" was born. Old Europa Cafe eases our thirst for absolute with the umpteenth pearl coming from the cold Swedish lands. Double CD, sixteen tracks, with essential graphics wrapped by the dark cape of primordial chaos. The Swedish giant's sounds are always a freezing question about the ego, about our innermost self, and this question falls inesorably into the cosmic distance of eternity. Faithless sounds, without any hope (we leave that to the pious adepts of the three persons in one...), fascinatingly moulded by Henrik.

Yet, it seems like we're dealing with a supernatural essence, a transcendental one, not making our miserable mortal lives any better, but intensifying and upgrading them. Long sonic soundscapes lead us between the realms of a mythical pre-logical path, interpolated by by distant echoes, clangours from the abyss, shrill voices, in a sort of kaleidoscopic dance of cursed shadows. If the first CD presents the well-known dark ambient compositions, it's interesting that CD 2 alternates gloomy tracks with others of very refined and ethereal deep-house nature. At the end of the listening experience, at the end of the spell, we feel like a sense of instant pacification, throwing us out of any habit... everything seems so perfect.
