The important remastering work done by Old Europa Cafe gave back life to this third full-length CD by Stratvm Terror (side-project of Raison d'être), "Pain Implantations", released, back in 1998 by the Malignant Records. Despite being more than ten years old, these recordings resit and move ahead the corrosive proof of time, that everything ruthlessly swallows and spits. The duo Peter Andersson / Tobias Larsson offers an inner landscape completely deformed, in which the phantoms of our ego wanders through the frozen, endless Scandinavian lands, in search for a point of equilibrium. Twelve tracks revolve around the meanders of a sound research reduced to the essential, where a gloomy minimalism, made of reverberations and haunting distant noises, anaesthetizes the nihilism of our time. Above the others, it's track number three to tower, as it's perfectly able to make you grasp the essence of a genre, dark ambient, lately undergoing a sort of identity crisis, lacking ideas and repeating itself endlessly.

A special mention deserves the completely new artwork, sporting disgusting and revolting close-ups of teeth implants and dentist surgery. If the only sound of the drill gives you the shrivrels, you'd better put the CD in the player without looking at it!
